Charity work

Kai supports several charities including:

- Clic-Sargent (Britain's largest cancer charity for children)

- NSPCC (National Society for the Provention of Cruelty to Children)

- Harry's Fund

In 2008 Kai started the Greggs fun run in Cardiff to raise money for University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff.

In 2009 Kai ran his first London Marathon for Clic-Sargent and then went on to run the Bristol half-marathon later that year. Kai ran his 2nd London Marathon in 2010. Kai became Patron of Clic-Sargent in 2010 and to date he has raised over £8,500.

Clic-Sargent is a charity very close to Kai's heart. Kai's cousin Michaela has had 11 operations for brain tumours and her and her family have been greatly helped by Clic-Sargent.

In 2016 Kai ran his third London Marathon. This time with Hollyoaks co-star Nadine Mulkerrin for the NSPCC following a hard hitting story line which saw Kai (as Pete Buchanan) and Nadine (as Cleo) portray a dark sexual abuse storyline. Kai and Nadine worked closely with the NSPCC whilst researching the storyline.
